It’s been a while….
…since i wrote a blog on here. Well, winter has come and gone, and summer was slow to come. We had (and still have) some unusually cool weather, so the hiking season started late. In the meantime, I spent a lot of time finishing my second cookbook - this time it was all about cookies (btw, great snacks to take on hikes!). If you want to have a look, here is the link: The Cookie Book
I am so behind with blogs, which shows because my 3rd cookbook is almost finished as well. This one will be all about gifts from the kitchen, such as gifts for someone special and/or gifts to take to a party to share. More details soon.
Back to hiking: I have taken Yogi (our motorhome) out a few times to hike quite a few of trails in Västernorrland’s nature reserves. This is my research for the 2nd hiking book as well. I plan to cover all 230+ nature reserves in Västernorrland, knowing that it is a huge task. Although quite a few reserves have no trails, and will be only mentioned (to be complete). It has been a great season so far, and I ventured a bit further inland to areas such as Ånge and the region between Sollefteå and the border to Jämtland.
I covered a variety of hikes, from short walks to longer hikes, depending on the respective nature reserve. There have been some real gems, and I often catch myself thinking “this might be my new favourite trail”, just until I am on the next trail and think the same - they are almost all so beautiful!
I also came across a few other areas and sights (outside the nature reserves), such as those below:
Räbbstugeforsen
Borgsjö Church
We have a bit of rain this week, but hopefully it clears up soon, so that I can get back on the trails and hike more, and collect more information for the second hiking book.
Until the next time, hej-då!
